NAME: SUNRISE CELL COMPANION
PROJECT: SELF-INITIATED CASE STUDY
YEAR: 2024

A FAST, FOCUSED DESIGN EXPLORATION DEVELOPED TO UNDERSTAND THE REAL-WORLD WORKFLOWS AROUND SUNRISE’S ROBOTIC CELLS. THE AIM WAS TO CREATE A WEARABLE, ALWAYS-ON NOTIFICATION DEVICE THAT SUPPORTS OPERATORS SUPERVISING MULTIPLE CELLS IN HIGH-MIX, LOW-VOLUME ENVIRONMENTS. THE PROJECT COMBINES INTERACTION DESIGN, LIGHTWEIGHT UX FLOWS, AND A FUNCTIONAL PHYSICAL PROTOTYPE TO TEST SCALE, ERGONOMICS, AND CORE BEHAVIOURS SUCH AS ALERTING, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, AND QUICK STATUS CHECKS. THE OUTCOME IS A SIMPLE, ROBUST CONCEPT—A SMALL, CNC-FRIENDLY DEVICE WITH A MINIMAL INTERFACE—DESIGNED TO FIT SUNRISE’S EXISTING DESIGN LANGUAGE AND OPERATIONAL REALITY.

Projects were using the same panels one after another. So every project has some influence on the next.

All the projects were carefully maped and turned into isomeric Drawings which are archived for the later studies.

As part of the whole research project the exhibition “Razstava 2.0” was created, where the visitiors were also part of the study about wood screws.
